Hidden Rules

Starting college can be overwhelming for many, and for neurodivergent students, the transition can bring additional challenges. Adjusting to a new environment, adapting to different routines, or missing familiar comforts are just a few aspects of higher education that can be unexpectedly difficult.

Hidden Rules Handouts:

Procrastinator’s United

Struggling to stay focused while studying? Finding it tough to start or complete assignments on your own? You're not alone! Join the Procrastinators United Study Group and use the power of your brain's mirror neurons to be productive! We will offer a relaxed atmosphere in a large room with natural lighting, low electronic background noise, and furniture that can be arranged so you can sit as close or as far away from people as you want. Surround yourself with others who are also working, making it easier to stay on track (thanks to body-doubling*!). Plus, you'll have access to an on-site tutor for help. Don't struggle with tasks on your own, we can all motivate each other!

*Body Doubling Definition: "Body doubling is having another person around while you work on a task. They don’t have to assist directly; just simply being present could help you start, focus, and finish (Psych Central, 2024, p. 1)."
