DEI Resources and Support

The Center offers specialized advising support to students, faculty and staff around questions or efforts relating to diversity, equity and inclusion. In addition, the Center provides support designed to improve the experiences of historically underserved groups on campus. If you want to learn more, visit our Campus Actions page or contact our coordinator, Zach Romo, at zachary.romo@gatewaycc.edu.

In addition, our website features helpful resources for you to learn more about diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as connections to other campus offices who help students with specific needs, accommodations or questions.

If you are in need of support and/or wish to report an incident of bias or other violation, please contact the office below that is most relevant to your concern:

Learning and Reflection Spaces

This flexible learning space is available for reservation to use for classes, group activities, or any other function that contributes to the center’s mission. This space features an interactive digital display and movable furniture, allowing the space to adapt to your needs for any workshop, class, session or program. For more information, contact DEI@gatewaycc.edu.

Our Art Gallery features a variety of artwork sourced from our community, employees and students. The Center’s dedicated curation team features a new exhibit in the gallery each semester, along with other special events. The space is also available to reserve for learning purposes, discussions, and events. For more information, contact DEI@gatewaycc.edu.

The Serenity Room is available to all members of the GateWay community for private, personal, and spiritual reflection. Visitors to this space are welcomed on a first come, first serve basis. In order to make sure everyone is able to access the space throughout the day, we request that visitors limit their time in the Serenity Room to 10 minutes. Out of respect for all users of this space, food and beverages are prohibited.

The Center maintains a Resource Library for visitors, which contains readings and media that explore DEI subjects through various perspectives. If our collection does not have what you need, visitors are welcome to use our computer workstations to search and learn more online. As an extension of our Resource Library, we have a Small Group Meeting Space available for use for up to six people at a time. Reservations are not required, but recommended if your small group wants private use of the meeting space. For more information and reservations, please contact DEI@gatewaycc.edu.
