GateWay Community College's Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation (CEI) continues to demonstrate its pivotal role in fostering groundbreaking advancements in the bioscience sector. Recently, CEI client OXbyEL Technologies participated in the prestigious SEMICON West Symposium, a leading event in the semiconductor industry, held in San Francisco from July 9 to 11, 2024.

CEI, established by GateWay Community College and the Maricopa County Community College District, has been instrumental in nurturing innovative startups like OXbyEL Technologies. As part of its mission, CEI provides state-of-the-art incubation space, comprehensive business services, and proactive support to entrepreneurs striving to make significant technological and scientific advancements.

OXbyEL Technologies, under the guidance of CEO Ed Ricci, showcased their cutting-edge approach to eradicating persistent pollutants from industrial wastewater, including PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). This breakthrough aligns with the semiconductor industry's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. OXbyEL's technology, nurtured and supported by CEI, addresses the urgent need for effective PFAS destruction, enabling water reuse and bolstering the industry's sustainability efforts.

"We're honored to share our progress in PFAS elimination at SEMICON West," said Ed Ricci. "Our technology not only tackles the immediate challenge of PFAS but also paves the way for treating emerging contaminants, thanks to the support and resources provided by CEI."

Since its inception in 2013, CEI has provided vital support to over 75 startups, leading to the creation of 872 jobs, securing $135 million in capital, and generating more than $177 million in total gross revenue. CEI’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship is evident in the success stories of its clients, such as OXbyEL Technologies.
