Last week, GateWay Community College’s marketing department was recognized with five National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) Medallion Awards. The awards consisted of three gold and two silver medallions.
The medallions are awarded for outstanding achievement in marketing and communication at two-year community and technical colleges in each of NCMPR’s seven districts. GateWay is part of District 6, which consists of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands and Territory of Guam. The regional awards are exclusive to marketing and public relations departments.
“What I am most proud of is that every one of our team members contributed in a meaningful way to these projects,” said Lindsey Wilson, Public Relations and Marketing Director at GateWay, who accepted the awards on behalf of the college at the conference. “We truly thrive on collaboration and produce our best work when we approach projects as a team. The awards are a great honor, but most importantly, they represent our critical role in impacting real students and changing lives.”
The three gold awards were given for best online marketing campaign for their recent “Dreams” campaign, best signage for their brand new Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and best short video series. Two silver runner-up awards were also given for best logo wear and print recruitment marketing piece.
This year’s three award-winning projects will be resubmitted at the national level and considered for NCMPR’s Paragon Awards, which will be announced at the national conference in March 2023.
