Veteran Student Ulises Lopez

The 49th Annual Commencement Ceremony for GateWay Community College will take place on Friday, May 12, 2017, at 5:45 p.m. and will be streamed live.  We wish to recognize a few of the Geckos that will be participating in the graduation ceremony. Congratulations on your achievement!

Yan Liang chose the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program for her love of working with patients, and already has a job lined up at a hospital after graduation. She said GateWay's faculty members helped contribute to her accomplishments.

Crissy Ramos started her journey at GateWay in search of a stable, high paying career. This month, she will earn an associate degree and a bachelor of science in nursing.

Megan Alexander didn't  always know what she wanted to do, but as a senior in high school she learned more about GateWay's meat cutting program and decided to take the plunge.

After serving in the military, Ulises Lopez came to GateWay to begin his journey to physical therapy school. He said his success can be attributed to the faculty and staff who seek to build connections with students.

Sarah Lainez came to GateWay to avoid student loans, but quickly fell in love with the school for other reasons. As an aspiring business owner, she learned that she wanted to cater her endeavors to the community. Thanks to her activeness on campus, she quickly got involved in several programs, which made GateWay feel like a second home.

These past two years have been an amazing roller coster. I feel like I’ve learned a lot here got a better direction of where I want to go.

Brittany Hansen chose the physical therapist assistant program because of her love for helping others. Now, she'll get to do just that when she graduates this week.

Grant Brumlow joined the welding program at GateWay to learn a new skill. Now, he doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon and is employed as an instructor in the program.

I saw that I could do something here with this. I love this school because people come here to learn a skill to improve their lives to do something out there in the workforce.
