GateWay Community College will host a Water Resource open house for those interested in joining the program and learning about the career. The event will be on Sept. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., in South Building Room SO1330.
“GateWay’s Water Open House has become the premier event in Arizona for those seeking a career in this field,” said Mario Castaneda, program director. “The event presents a great opportunity for those that want to learn more about the job outlook for this career, what it’s like to be a student at GateWay and what they can expect when they graduate the program.”
Representatives from Valley municipalities, private water/wastewater treatment and consulting companies as well as the U.S. Geological Survey, also will be at the open house to talk about careers in water.
Due to an increasing population, demand for water and wastewater treatment services careers are expected to grow by 14% over the next six years.
