Laura Mata Scholarship

This scholarship is inspired by Laura Mata’s groundbreaking work with older adults. Laura is a Fitness Instructor and Trainer at the Del E. Webb Wellness Center, a facility of Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, Arizona. Her expertise, dedication, and academic ambitions have played a pivotal role in the donor exploring innovative, holistic approaches to supporting this vulnerable demographic. Promoting wellness among older populations is critical, especially as the number of Americans aged 65 and older is projected to rise by 47% by 2050. The Laura Mata Scholarship aims to support students who not only share a commitment to enhancing the health and wellbeing of older adults, but also stand out as a true leader like Laura Mata, representing the needs of older fitness enthusiasts.
