Jim Baugh Math Lovers Scholarship

Following a distinguished military career, Dr. Jim Baugh began his second career as a mathematics faculty member at GateWay Community College in 1994. As an instructor, Jim brought an infectious enthusiasm to the classroom. He was known for greeting the students with “Good morning, math lovers,” as he entered the room.  Dr. Baugh had a reputation for being extremely knowledgeable, caring and always available to help his students outside of class. In addition to his dedicated service in the classroom, Dr. Baugh served as the Mathematics/Science Division Chair from 2000 to 2004 and from 2014 to 2016 and as the Mathematics Coordinator from 2004 to 2014. Dr. Jim Baugh made a difference in the lives of many students.
