Ila Washington Memorial Fund

Ila Washington’s commitment to the well-being and growth of our students was incomparable during her 26 years of leadership at GateWay. Through her work, she created a welcoming and inclusive environment within the Office of Student Life and Leadership, fostering a sense of belonging for all. Her role as an Adjunct Faculty member in Communications for 10 years, coupled with serving as the Director of the TRIO Student Services Support program during her time, supported students in overcoming educational barriers, and showcased her passion for empowering others. Ila’s leadership will continue to shape the experiences of GateWay students and the community for years to come.

This fund is dedicated to facilitating GateWay students’ growth, specifically in the areas of leadership and service. Funds may be used for student development, including but not limited to, conference fees, seminars, workshops, training, registration, and travel costs (e.g., lodging, food, transportation, etc.).
