Borze and Heying-Stanley Scholarship

The Borze and Heying-Stanley Nursing Continuing Education Scholarship will provide financial assistance to currently enrolled continuing education students.  The scholarship was developed in 2019 and anyone can become a donor.  The scholarship is overseen through NCE and is a Maricopa Community Foundation scholarship. 

ABOUT ILENE BORZE AND BETTY HEYING-STANLEY
Ilene Borze recently retired in 2017 and was the original Program Director for GateWay Community College Nursing Continuing Education. Her dedication to meeting the needs of community partners and nursing professionals spanned many decades. Dr. Betty Heying-Stanley will be retiring in May 2019 and has been the LPN/RN Refresher Coordinator. Her dedication to the nursing profession is legendary. Most students would say they are not sure where they would be today without her teaching, guidance, and mentorship.

Award: $ varies. Specific dollar amount based on documented need. To reimburse expenses for an NCE class, clinical equipment, or lab supplies that would create a hardship.

Criteria: Current registered and enrolled student meeting course requirements.

How to apply: Type your responses to the questions on the following page. Then, email your completed application to Jeanette Peterson, Program Director for Nursing Continuing Education, at jeanette.peterson@gatewaycc.edu. Applications must be submitted before October for the fall semester and March for the spring semester.
