Meet the Faculty
Tabby Hatfield, RDMS, RVT, RT(R)
I'm Tabby Hatfield, a seasoned educator with 13 years of experience in Higher Education. My journey began two decades ago when I embarked on a career in healthcare as a Radiographer and Sonographer. My educational foundation was built at Fort Hays State University, where I earned my AAS degree in Medical Radiography and concurrently pursued a BS degree in Diagnostic Medical Imaging. To further expand my expertise, I completed a Certificate in Sonography.
While working as a sonographer at a prominent County Hospital in Kansas City, I discovered my profound passion for teaching. Guiding students and residents in the intricacies of ultrasound became my calling. In 2009, I earned a Master of Arts in Leadership, equipping me with valuable skills to excel in both a Leadership and educational realm.
My journey into full-time teaching commenced in 2011, marking a significant turning point in my career. For several years, I continued to balance clinical practice with honing my skills as a healthcare educator. In 2016, my family relocated to Phoenix, where I joined Gateway Community College as an adjunct faculty member. A year later, I embraced the role of Imaging Continuing Education Coordinator on a full-time basis.
Throughout my professional evolution, I've discovered a profound passion for crafting high-quality and engaging online courses. Recognizing that each learner possesses unique styles of comprehension, I employ diverse teaching methods. I firmly believe that by catering to individual needs, we empower students to not only understand but truly internalize the content, facilitating their growth and development.
